Event Volunteer

Perfect for those who want to make a real difference but can't commit to a weekly schedule. As an Event Volunteer, you'll help bring CYAC fundraisers and community events to life — supporting prevention, education, and awareness.

In This Role You Will

  • Support program activities held in the community to promote prevention and education
  • Assist with fundraising activities including set-up, take-down, and overseeing information tables
  • Engage warmly with visitors and attendees at events
  • Support with planning, decorating, and event set-up and clean-up
  • Help gather feedback and support post-event wrap-up tasks

What We're Looking For

  • Friendly and polite — comfortable approaching and engaging with all kinds of people
  • Some experience with fundraising or event planning is an asset
  • Willing to learn and take direction from CYAC staff
  • A creative mind and energetic spirit
  • Enjoys teamwork and working in a lively environment
  • Reliable and follows through on commitments
Good to Know This is a great starting point for anyone who wants to support CYAC but isn't ready for a long-term weekly commitment. Many of our Event Volunteers go on to apply for other roles within the program.

Commitment Required

  • Time is based on the needs of each event
  • Community events are often scheduled for evenings or weekends
  • Larger fundraising events may include planning meetings before the event date
  • No long-term weekly commitment required
