Together We Can Change The Story For Kids

This event is designed as a foundational event that aims to bring together professionals from child protection, child and family well-being, healthcare, mental health, law enforcement, justice, and victim services to create safer and healthier communities. As this is the first year for the conference, the Durham CYAC will lead a conference to help ensure understanding about the new centre and the changes in practice that the CYAC works to coordinate. As well as offering collaborative learning in an area identified as a need in Durham Region.

Why Attend?

  • Learn from the local MDT Partners about their specific role in the CYAC model
  • Hear about the changes and current practice at the Durham CYAC
  • Learn from leading experts in Sibling Abuse and Problematic Sexualized Behavior
  • Engage in interactive breakout sessions aimed at providing each profession, a specialized session in supporting children and youth
  • Network with peers and build connections to strengthen our community

You will leave with sound knowledge on the CYAC model and roles. You will have strengthened understanding about the collaborative system approach required to best care for children, youth, and families in sibling abuse situations. Whether you are a social worker, healthcare provider, or member of justice and law this conference equips you to engage in lasting change to support safety and healing with those you serve and our community.
